Polmadie Shed

Polmadie Shed is situated on the West Coast Main Line in the Polmadie district of the south side of Glasgow, and was built in 1879 by the Caledonian Railway. It is now known as Polmadie Traction and Rolling Stock Maintenance Depot (T&RSMD), and is run by Alstom, who maintain Virgin West Coast's fleet of Class 390 Pendolinos built by Alstom, and Class 221 Super Voyagers, built by Bombardier. The depot is also used for overnight stabling of East Coast Inter-City 225 trains as well as for daytime storage, maintenance and cleaning of Caledonian Sleeper stock.
